I come from performance, so I understand the stage from the inside.
My background in circus, burlesque, dance, partner acrobatics, and movement gives me a strong sense of timing, bodies, entrances, exits, weight shifts, reveals, and live audience energy.
I am not trying to present myself as an advanced lighting designer before I have earned that title. I am building the craft from the ground up: learning the technical language, getting into rooms, supporting working designers and technicians, and becoming more useful with every call.
I am currently building my lighting foundation through hands-on work, self-study, and production support.
Current areas of study:
DMX fundamentals
Addressing and patching
ETC EOS
Cue playback
Lighting paperwork
Basic troubleshooting
Small-room theatrical lighting
Cabaret, burlesque, circus, and dance lighting aesthetics
My goal is to become a reliable lighting technician and board op first, then grow into assistant lighting design and original lighting design work.
